Thank you for your interest in working for Icicle Seafoods' Larsen Bay plant. We are a salmon canning and fresh frozen operation located in scenic Larsen Bay, Alaska on the west side of Kodiak Island. We are a full service wild salmon processing plant producing the highest quality canned and frozen salmon available on the market.

The salmon season generally runs from June until the end of August. However, there is a need for fall processing as late as the 20th of September. Following is some additional information you may need:

Beachfront Living!

Larsen BayWe will provide you with room and board. As long as you start and work through the duration of the season, and are not terminated for cause or otherwise cease your employment with Icicle Seafoods, there will be no charge for room and board. If you quit, we reserve the right to charge you for your room and board at $15.00 per day. Rooms are shared with two to 4 people. Absolutely no cooking is allowed in the rooms. Bedding is laundered once a week. Your personal laundry is also done for you, once a week, free of charge.

Dining

Our mess hall provides food service virtually around the clock to satisfy your hunger needs, free of charge. Our fine staff serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and sometimes a midnight meal in our quaint mess hall with a commanding view of Uyak Bay and the snow covered mountains of Kodiak Island. Mug-up will keep you full of caffeine and fresh baked goodies. Our staff strives to prepare meals that are enjoyed by all. An eclectic menu of meats and vegetables to rice and noodles, as well as fresh fruits and baked goods will keep you energized for the hard work!

Transportation

TransportationWe will provide round trip airfare from Seattle, WA to our facility in Larsen Bay. Please note that if you are terminated for cause or quit you will be responsible for your own transportation costs to leave Larsen Bay.

What to Bring

Larsen BayClothing should be appropriate for a wet, cold climate. Temperatures generally stay between 50 and 65 degrees, and we get a substantial amount of rain. We supply blankets and linens for use in the bunkhouse. We also supply towels, but bringing your own towel is a nice comfort. We suggest you bring enough of your own toiletries, personal hygiene items for three months. You should also bring a wind-up or battery operated alarm clock. You must bring with you a three month supply of any prescription medicine you are currently taking. Icicle Seafoods will not be responsible for lost or stolen items.

The Larsen Bay Mercantile has a limited, yet wide ranging, assortment of sundries should you need to make small purchases. You may find soda, candy, snack food, soft serve ice cream, and an assortment of clothing, rain gear, tobacco products.
